Book Review - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Author: J.K Rowling

Genre: kids & teens

Main characters: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore

Recommended: children & teenagers

Harry Potter is no ordinary boy, he is a wizard like lots of others. Not just that, he also has faced the most            powerful dark (mean) wizard in the world a lot of times. That dark wizard’s name is Lord Voldemort. There are other books in the series that talk about Harry and Voldemort fighting. Harry has two friends, Ron Weasley (wizard) and Hermione Granger (witch). The three friends stick together and have lots of adventures.

On Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts (school of witchcraft and wizardry), Harry is having private lessons with the headmaster (only for some days though) called Dumbledore. Unfortunately, Dumbledore dies in this book. What is Dumbledore going to teach Harry this year in his private lessons? Who kills Dumbledore? Read the book to find the answers!

Why I liked this book:

I liked this book as it has magic in the story. It was so intriguing that I would read it way past my bedtime sometimes! In the end it is really sad as the headmaster dies. There is a new headmistress called Professor McGonagall (she was deputy head before). This book has a movie too, though I must admit that I think the book is better.

Other books in the same series:

1.      Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

2.      Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

3.      Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

4.      Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

5.      Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

6.      Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
